 | Octavia AlloccoResearcherOctavia’s roles at nfpSynergy include project management and data analysis on both sides of our business – syndicated monitors and bespoke projects. These roles include making an important contribution to the Charity Awareness Monitor and to many of our bespoke projects. Octavia’s main area of work is qualitative research, having conducted in-depth interviews and moderated focus groups for clients such as The Scouts Association, Elizabeth Finn Care, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Association of Project Managers (APM).
She studied for a degree in Sociology at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, before moving to London in 1995. In 2000 she obtained a BA in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics (LSE), graduating with a 2:1. She also holds an MSc in Social Research from the University of Surrey, being her final dissertation a qualitative study on the experiences of foreign students who are living and studying in the UK.
Octavia has been working in research since the year 2000 having worked in the public, private and not-for-profit sector. Before joining nfpSynergy, Octavia worked for the St Catherine’s monastery book conservation project at Camberwell College of Arts (part of the University of the Arts London). There she was involved in the co-ordination and administration of the project, while assisting an international group of researchers looking after the world’s oldest monastery’s library at the Sinai desert, Egypt.
Her interests include migration and cultural studies, as well as international politics and history. She’s also very keen on the Arts and trekking in remote places of the world. Octavia is currently on maternity leave. If you would like to speak to somebody about our Charity Awareness Monitor, please contact Rebecca Molyneux instead.
