Samaritans is holding its second Stress Down Day on 1 February next year. The event, which aims to encourage people to think about stress in the workplace, raises money through supporters' activities and partnerships with sponsors.
According to the charity, 21 million people read or heard about this year's Stress Down Day and Stressed Out, a survey based on UK-wide research by third sector think tank nfpSynergy.
Samaritans, which is still looking for a headline sponsor for next year's event, said it did not have a fundraising target for the event.
Henshaws, the charity for blind and partially sighted people, will have its logo portrayed in a giant coin painting to mark World Sight Day on 11 October. Visually impaired artist Monica Rapacz will create the logo out of 15,000 coins.
The British Library is promoting its Adopt a Book scheme to the Christmas gift market. Supporters can pay to adopt books such as a 1922 copy of A Christmas Carol for donations starting from £25.
HorseWorld, the equine welfare charity, is looking for two volunteers to take part in a Mongolian horseriding challenge in June next year. Participants will spend 10 days on horseback to raise money for the charity.
Hampshire Deaf Association is set to benefit from £25,000 that supporter Lawrence Knight aims to raise by running the 2009 Marathon des Sables, a six-day, 151-mile race through the Sahara desert.
